The Baby Chicken named Turtle

My tea kettle wasn't as shiny as this one, but you get the idea.
Would you believe it if I told you that today was even better than yesterday? Yes, it was! If you saw a girl holding a tea kettle around the school at any point during the day, chances are, it was me. Unless somebody else brought one too...in which case it might not have been me...

And now you must be asking, why on earth did I bring a tea kettle to school today? 'Tis a simple answer: it was cultural exchange day for our geography class!

In order to understand more about the different cultures of Canada's citizens, we each brought in something special to our culture.

I chose bubble tea and pineapple cakes, as they were both invented in Taiwan, which is where my family is from. Anyhow, we needed to provide 32 servings of whatever food we brought, if we brought food. The pineapple cake was simple, but I was left with a dilemma; what container would hold 32 servings, or five litres of bubble tea? Guess what. There was only one thing in the house with such a big capacity. My tea kettle. And so, that's what I used!

Okay, more about that later. First, CS. We discussed creating action plans with  other students in order to achieve our goals by the end of the break. I have no doubt that any fellow classmates that aren't currently at an 80% will be able to pull their marks up. I'll keep working at my mark, and spend time helping as many friends as possible. Together, we can most definitely meet Mr. Arkin's expectations! *Gulp* I really hope so.

We continued to work on the bouncing character program, which I showed of couple of friends. I was pretty happy to discover upon asking Mr. Arkin that I had correctly coded my program! I fixed a few magic values, and will start working on two new assignments later. When I finish, I'll tell you more about them!

Ha. I wish my bubble tea looked this pretty.
Now, back to the food! I really enjoyed the cultural exchange experience. I think at least four people brought samosas, mmmmm! Everybody had something interesting to share, from  books to jade pendants, folk songs to fortune cookies! One of the things that stood out was Mahak's mango ice cream. She made it herself, and added a very tasty spice! Unfortunately, I don't remember what it was called. Happily, all my classmates enjoyed my bubble tea, and I even had some left over for some friends in other classes.

Now it's time for a special shoutout, to my good friend Arthi!

When I give Christmas presents, I really don't expect to receive any in return. This girl, however, gave me something completely unexpected! She gave me a pair of the new Olympic Canada mittens, that assemble to create a maple leaf! Not only that, she also gave me a adorable chick stuffed animal! The picture below doesn't do the actual animal justice. :) It is SO CUTE! Thanks Arthi! I love it!

On another note, the moment I got the stuffed animal, Hannah decided to name it Turtle. *sigh* Inside joke there. Unfortunately, we all know that once a stuffed animal is given a name, it cannot be changed. So now my adorable chick is Turtle. :( Oh well. It's still a cute Turtle. Hannah, please don't comment on that!

Two days left until the break!
