Wipe 2.0

To Hannah, if she ever reads this: I love Chicken Turtle, but we all know that Hannah harbours an immense admiration (dare I say love?) for a certain teacher… J Hohoho!

Okay, so today was another relaxing and fun day at school. We watched Home Alone in geography, a classic. We also finished up French presentations, and had party in music.

Actually, Mr. Awesome Music Teacher held a poker game for the students who knew how to play, and surprisingly, he didn't win! He was beaten by Yao (pronounced YOW!). But SHHHHHHHH! about the game. I'm not sure if it's what teachers should be holding in their classes...

We continued working on some pseudo-animations in CS. I say pseudo, because we aren't really creating animations, more like graphics that are manipulated to seem like they are moving. Carol and I worked together on fixing up the bouncing ball program, so that should be perfect now. I also worked on Wipe and Wipe 2.0. Allow me to explain. They are programs that have to do with "moving" objects around the edges of run windows. The most primitive program we were to work on consisted of a "snake" effect around the border. We gradually worked to develop a flickering rectangle that travelled around the border, then added the location of the objects displayed on the screen (row, column format).

My favourite hobby! :O Okay, no.
Next, I also developed programs that only moved the objects when something was pressed on the keyboard. Finally, I worked on colour differentiation, and counting the number of times the object had travelled around the border. I think I like this type of programming a lot more than the previous exercises, as it is really fun to stare at a screen with a "moving" object! Oh gosh. O_O That made me sound really no-lifed, didn't it?  Sigh. Oh well!

I'll work on perfecting those programs a little later. I've got yet another Christmas party at 7 pm, and I'm very excited about the Secret Santa exchange we will be doing! Speaking of being excited, boy, am I excited about Hannah's present! She told me that she wrote me a Christmas story... I'm not sure if I should be worried or not... We'll find out soon enough!

Until tomorrow,
G-G-G, G-G-G, G-r-a-c-e

P.S. What song was that rhythm from? 5 Ferrets to the first comment that is correct!

  1. Haha. Zelin wins, even though he either:

    a) misspelled it due to trying to quickly type the answer in order to get his ferrets

    b) knows some song called Jungle Bells that I don't know

    Nice try Bonnie!

  2. HAHA, VERY FUNNY GRACE. >:( And no, I'm not talking about the Jingle/Jungle Bells.

It's OK though, cuz we all know you love more than just chicken Turtle! >:)

  3. Grace, I'm surprised that you, with your vast knowledge of music history, didn't know about Jungle Bells. It's, like, the most famous holiday carol ever.

    Chicken Turtle? J Hohoho?

Should I be worried about your sanity!? (>:])

  4. Was that sarcasm? Or does there actually exist such a thing? :O *is easily gullible, so please tell me the truth*

Hehe. If we meet up over the break, I'll tell you about Chicken Turtle. And "J Hohoho" is supposed to be :). I did the post in MS Word, and the character got messed up in the copy-paste.

Don't worry, I'm still sane. Partially, anyway. :)
