*BAMCLANGCRASHKABOOM!*
As you see, I like to make an entrance. Heh.
Well, today's class was pretty laid back. We completed a survey on our thoughts for this term, had a homework check, and continued to work on our repetition assignments. I didn't get a lot completed, because I was busy helping some of my friends with their code. I still have four more assignments to go before I finish!

I wouldn't want to be stuck on the same flight as Yao. |
Anyways, before I get sidetracked and start listing types of cheeses, I will continue. Geography was the usual, and in music, we did two things. The first of which was that we received our unit marks! I did alright, 94%. I was kind of expecting higher ... but oh well. I better be thankful before somebody decides to beat me up for being such a nerd. :P We also started a listening/music history/intervals unit.
And yes, only Mr. Gelbloom can do that. Combine 3 lessons into one, and still have time to talk about poker, that is. ;) Anyhow, if you were in my class through grades 7 and 8, you would know that I used to be a music history nut. In fact, I used to spend all my free time reciting, memorizing, and regurgitating random musical facts, because that is what happens when you take an RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) music history course. And I took two.
Let me clarify. I used to be what one would call a music geek. I played 4 instruments, and even finished grade 10 on the piano. I decided to stop, because I had reached a certain mile point, and I really didn't have enough time to pursue ARCT (teacher's or performer's degree).
And so, with each practical exam you do, you also have to meet certain theory courses such as harmony and music history in order to receive your certificate. That was the main reason why I took the courses, but I actually found them quite interesting, because my teacher was very good at retelling the lives of the composers in humorous ways.
Well, I thought I was done and would never have to hear any music history terms again. I spent the entire summer attempting to empty my mind of everything to do with music history. Imagine my surprise when I learned we were doing a WHOLE UNIT on it in music. Oh joy. At least I know Handel's Water music when I hear it.
Today's quote should be: It ain't over 'till it's over.
Over and out,
Grace
P.S. In case you're still wondering what the "dead horses" thing is about, I honestly don't remember. I just recall Mr. Arkin mentioning it during class today.
You sure are a busy one.
ReplyDeleteVery nice geo mark. Where is your class at for geo?
Zelin
Hahaha... "It ain't over 'till it's over." Wonder where you got that from? >:)
ReplyDeleteOh and I was reading your "Grace Says" section... you forgot TURTLES! (Awkward turtle! http://areyouaniceguy.com/products/awkward-turtle)
@ Zelin, thanks! I have geo with Ms. Bremner, on the 3rd floor (302). By the way, how was the LMT meeting? I missed it due to a Model UN meeting...D;
ReplyDelete@ Hannah: There's a reason why I didn't include "turtles." -.-"
The meeting? Just a run through of our tasks. we also signed up for shifts next week. You better check the LMT wikispaces!
