BLACKOUT!

"Who turned out the lights?"
You thought I forgot about posting, didn't' you? Ohoho, Grace never forgets. I usually post quite early, but today, I couldn't post until now due to a special circumstance. This morning, a fuse blew at my house, and after many unsuccessful attempts to replace the blown fuse, half of our house was left void of electricity. Too bad it was the half that my room lies in ... -.-"

I had to use my mother's computer after school to quickly check wikispaces, but then an electrician arrived to fix our problem, and so I didn't have access to the internet after that! I also had a taekwondo lesson today, so I didn't get back until about half and hour ago.

Anyhow, I returned to an email sitting in my inbox from Mr. Arkin. Earlier, I had attempted to help out a classmate on the wiki spaces discussion forum. I'm not that great at explaining, so I provided a few examples. I accidentally gave them a part of the answer! While it meant that they got the answer, it also unfortunately meant that they didn't learn anything. I learned a very valuable lesson today: help others by guiding them to the answer, not just spoon-feeding them, or nobody will truly benefit from the experience.

Ew! Raw fish. D;
There's an old saying that goes,""Give a man a fish and you have fed him for today. Teach a man HOW to fish and he can feed himself for the rest of his life." It perfectly fits the situation, and yes, fish do taste good. Just not raw fish. I hate sashimi. ;)

Alright to lighten the mood a bit, today's class was yet ANOTHER WONDERFUL work period! We also desk checked a partner's assignment 7 (repetition). Homework is to continue working on the assignments (specifically 7 and 8), and also make a modified version of 7. I've locked my laziness in a closet for the time being, and finished repetition number 12! It's flawless, and I also embellished it. :P

The Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 Movie Poster
Kudos to those who can guess who this is. >:)
I hope tomorrow will be another work period, so I can finally finish all the repetition assignments, and continue with the substrings! I bet Zelin is just reading this and going, "Psh! I finished it all before your mother was born." Heh. My mother wasn't born that long ago, eh?

In the meantime, I'd like to know: How many of you are going to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on the opening day (this Friday)?

Grace-ashamed of herself for giving classmates the answer-face

  1. I know that Tom arranged a trip, but I'm not going. And neither is Yaning. Brandon is, and I'm not sure about the others.

  2. Yeah, a lot of the TOPS people are going on Friday - Tom prebooked tickets. A day ahead. I don't know how he did it.

    Anyways, I'm planning to watch it when I actually have time to do so, which is over the winter break. Probably with my mom (wow, that sounds kind of lame, but whatever. I usually see movies with her. : )) unless someone else wants to come with me? Usually, we go the theater at Morningside, because it's cheap, and it's like, never crowded.

    I saw Avatar there not too long after it was released, and there wasn't even a lineup. *CoughcoughSTCcough*

    That picture of Malfoy [wait, it IS him, right? It wouldn't be anyone else] makes him look really really old... It's probably the lighting. Or maybe what it does to his hairline.

    I like the idea of a wikispace. Although I guess none of our classes really need one. And your computer science course sounds interesting. Like, complicated interesting. [I wish we learned as much in Science. The only really new thing we did was quantum models, and I'm pretty sure it was dumbed down for us 'niners'.]
