Hello, hello.
(waits for applause)
(bows)
Thank you for that very warm welcome.
Or not. It's okay, I'm sure I'll have more readers soon.
In the meantime...*Important new alert!* I've re-read the instructions about this daily log, and I realize that I'm only supposed to be posting about what I did specifically in the COMPUTER STUDIES class. But seeing as I do have lots to say, all the time, here's what I'll do. From this point on, I'll post first about what I did in CS class, then if I have extra time, I MAY tell you some funny, or not so funny things about the rest of the day.
Here we go.
In CS, we learned about something very interesting and encountered by almost everybody everyday. Nope, not forks, not chocolate (which IS tasty), and not even money. Here are some key clues: tags, html, ASCII, containers, window titles, headings, bodies, and a lot of other vocabulary that just sounds random and unheard of, unless you know about... WEBPAGES!
And long story short, as I have to go eat dinner in five minutes, they are VERY complicated to create. Even the simplest webpages. And trust me, I mean COMPLICATED. Even after today's one hour class, I'm still feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the information, but I'll do some research on creating webpages later.
Tomorrow and Friday, our CS teacher, along with out music teacher, won't be at school because of the celebration known as Rosh Hashanah, or the Jewish New Year. And today, I learned that supposedly they eat sweet things during the celebration, such as apples dipped in honey (mmmmmmm). To prove his point, our teacher gave us lollipops on the way out, and we wished him a happy new year by saying "shanah tovah," or have a good new year.
Now quickly, the top 3 quirky moments of the day:
1. Not knowing when to sit down AFTER the national anthem.
2. Having lunch OUTSIDE, being free to roam anywhere for an hour.
3. Having my very good-humored music teacher throw us our prizes after naming various tunes played on a keyboard correctly.
*I answered for the Toccata and Fugue in D- by Bach, another piece I can't recall by JS Bach, Joy to the world, and for the author of THE RAVEN. (I know, it's not even a musical piece!)
By the way, I'm a bit of a music geek. I'll tell you more about it another time.

Ooh, I know, eating outside and being able to go wherever is so weird. We're so used to the caf and short lunches.
ReplyDeleteBtw, your classes sound more interesting than mine. Not that mine are boring. I like them. And did you know that "niners" in Extended French can take Gr. 10 French?! [Yes, I am planning to mooch material.] : )
