Of Six Month Lapses and New Beginnings

Hi there
(Did the lack of punctuation on that greeting bother you? Cool. Great minds think alike. )

I really tried. Honest!
I'll be honest. After first semester exams in January, I truly did intend to start blogging again. Then along came the big bad procrastination monster. It was one thing after the other, and soon enough, my grade 10 year was over. Without a single blog post for six whole months.

Of course, it's not just the fault of the monster. Some blame must also be attributed to the evil that is math, which occupied any and all of my spare time throughout the second semester.

Aside: I was, and am still dreadful at math.

Looking back, there's definitely some regret; all those evenings spent being taunted by menacing numbers on unfriendly practice sheets would have been much better spent keeping my millions of dedicated readers no one in particular updated regarding the going ons of my oh-so-eventful and remarkably fabulous life. *snorts* Right.

School done and finished (for now), I found myself free to do as I pleased. Believe me when I say that my first instinct was to sprint over to the computer and give my long-neglected blog some love. Alas, it seemed the procrastination monster wasn't quite ready to take a vacation. Thus, instead of doing something productive, such as studying for the SATs, doing my French and math summer homework, or oh right - updating my blog, I've been watching plenty of television and reading embarrassingly garbage YA books.

With that very long-winded and not-so-conclusive explanation, please forgive my absence for the past . . . while.
This face. Irresistible, right?

[Not quite sure why there's so much empty space here. This bothers me just a bit.]

Okay, cool, so now that's settled, HANG ON TIGHT, there's plenty that I want to share with you. I mean, with a life so vigorously packed like a vacuum-seal lunch box, I must get you all caught up on six months' worth of delicious goodies!

*yawn*

What's this? Curious. It seems like I've exceeded today's productivity quota. Oops. Well, I promise to fulfil the requirements of this . . . implied contact. As well as deliver on the promise to discuss the last six months, and keep you updated on the rest of this summer! How great is that?!?

Not so great? What's that? My voice is annoying, go away?

Oh, okay. Sheesh. You just can't handle the excitement of hearing my amazing summer recapped in animated detail. I understand. No need to be rude.

I think I may be losing it. Tsktsk. Talking to myself again.

Well, better turn in for tonight! Anticipating a busy day ahead, filled with screaming brats and humid weather.

Good night, and nice talking to you, whoever you may be!

THE HOPPING GRASS

P.S. If some phrases in particular seemed out of place in this post, they may have been cleverly concealed clues foreshadowing topics to be covered in the next post. Or just my badly integrated brain blasts. Lord knows I have way too many of those.

  1. Welcome back, Mademoiselle Hopping Grass!
I still can't figure out any secret messages from those out-of-place phrases.
