Humour me.

*ahem*
So er, you may be wondering why, on a school day morning at 7:50 AM, I am writing a blog post. You may also be wondering, assuming you cared, where on earth I've been for the last...month or so.

Never fear! I shall answer these hypothetical questions. Well, sort of.

Okay, so the truth is, due to the overwhelming pressure of grade ten IB, I've decided to drop out of high school altogether, and pursue my dream career of becoming a drug dealer. Also, I've adopted a kangaroo and will be moving next month to the hut in the Amazonian Rainforest that my parents got me for my sixteenth birthday.

I wish.

While that would be quite the interesting new lifestyle, I'm afraid that the truth is not so interesting.

Let's rewind a bit here. Back to the last post, before I disappeared from humanity without a trace. It's probably wise to clarify something now: I was not/am not suicidal, so no need to worry. Simply every once in a while, I read some really inspiring/disturbing piece of writing, and feel compelled to try out the style myself. Hence, Words Come Alive.

Where was I? Right, so this year, I decided not to document the (arguably) biggest events of the year: Christmas, New Year's, and my birthday. My family didn't go all out on festivities this year, as someone had the flu. Plus, I had a skyscraper-height tower of homework that needed to be done.

It was a downscale holiday, but I did watch an abundance of chick flicks during the two-week-long break. Curse you, WNetwork! Kept me from any productiveness for the entire first week. Though one can never get too much of Hugh Grant...

The cake. Of awesomeness!
The highlight was probably my birthday. The "iconic" Sweet Sixteen. I've never been one for flashy, overdone parties, and too many people make me nervous. Thus, the day was spent with my family, and a really awesome cake.

Funny thing is, I realized during the holidays that I really am quite spoiled. I mean, people asked about what to get me for Christmas/my birthday, but after thinking about it, there was nothing I really wanted. This is a huge credit to my family and friends. It's really thanks to them that I could be so satisfied.

With that realization, I decided to use the money I got for Christmas/my birthday to take my family to see Mission Impossible 4, as well as to dinner. Making them happy turned out the be the best birthday present I could get.

*shudder* Yeah, I'll turn down the cheesiness now.

So back to school. Time passed like a hurricane once we returned after the holidays. I was flung into a flurry of presentations, tests, and even an exam. It's been a whole week of sleeping in the morning, and being half-awake throughout the day.

As of today, I only have once more presentation to go, before the actual exams next week. However, other less fortunate souls are still experiencing the living hell known as French Oral exams. Since I am finished with mine (haha, suckers!), I do not have to be in class for the first period.

I think.
Otherwise, I'd be er...an hour late? If I left the house now, I mean.

Well, that's the scoop. (Of poop?) The next time we meet, semester one will be over, and  semester two will be in session!

Until then,
THE HOPPING GRASS
