Rose-tinted Spectacles

Huh. It's odd. I've been sitting here, staring at the screen for several long moments now, drawing a complete blank as to what to say, what to type. There was a time when words would flow effortlessly, but it's not like that. 

School's over now, has been for exactly one week. 

I'm convinced this is the devil's academic program.

Either that, or a scam.
I thought education was free in Canada.
Well, I paid $20 for this not-so-great course.

This summer is different. It's the first time that I'm staying at home, instead of vacationing with my family in another country, without a care in the world. I'm taking virtual school, Civics and Careers, because I took computer studies instead during the school year.

The stress of the final exams are over, and my final grades surprisingly exceeded my expectations. I'll be volunteering for various summer camps, as well a wheelchair service with scouts.

Deep in thought.

Over the past month, I've found myself visiting this blog, reading and re-reading. Sometimes, in the middle of the most unexpected moments - folding laundry, washing a mango - I find inspiration. Just snippets, thoughts, interesting things to share. But every time, every single time, I forget, or simply don't get around to posting.

Well now that I'm here, I might as well say what I remember.

1) I read a wonderfully clichéd, fluffy, and amazing summer series the other day. The Summer I Turned Pretty trilogy by Jenny Han is worthwhile, and lets one imagine the perfect summer, even if they are as far as possible from experiencing it.

2) Yesterday, I saw the heart-wrenchingly poignant and thought-provoking movie "Never Let Me Go", on a friend's recommendation. Highly re-recommended. Just some warnings; this movie deals with mature subject matters (rated R), and is very emotional. You may want to keep a tissue box handy.

3) Along with a fellow fanfiction reader, I've created an account and will soon pursue some creative writing on there. I'm not releasing the information at this time, because experimenting with anonymity seems interesting.
