It's been two days into semester two, so I thought I should come out of hiding and blab a bit about recent school life. Since I tackled Geography, Computer Studies, French, and Music last semester, I knew that I was going into a tougher semester than last. Now I have three core subjects: Math, English, and Science!
Of course, there's always gym, one of my favourite subjects. Anyhow, these two days, I've stumbled around the new schedule, dragging my directionally-challenged self to each new class, and luckily making it on time to each, so far.
I've gotten the chance to meet my new teachers, and here's what I think. Many scary stories were told to me about my homeroom teacher. Apparently, she likes to yell at kids, gives lots of homework, and dislikes girls. Needless to say, I was very anxious to meet her, and I must say, her style is very... different from any other teacher I've met. However, I don't think she's THAT bad (just a bit loud and straightforward is all). I mean, it may take a little getting used to, but as long as she teaches well, and I can approach her to ask questions, it should be fine.As for Math, my teacher is almost the complete opposite! He's pretty quiet and reserved, but I find that his soft voice means that everybody tends to pay a lot more attention when he teaches his lessons. He thoroughly explains all concepts, and just to make sure we understand, he has a mini-quiz each class on the class before! This is great, because it means that somewhere down the road, I won't be scratching my head and wondering how I failed a test, as the quizzes indicate right away when we have difficulties. I'm feeling hopeful about Math, for once. :)
Now for Science. I don't want to be biased so early on, but I think that my Science teacher has got to be the nicest one out of all three this semester. He's pretty good-natured and funny, and is totally not what I was expecting from a high school science teacher. For one thing, I've always associated science class with torturous, incomprehensible formulas. Last year's class with a bunch of serious science-inclined classmates most of whom ended up at TOPS didn't help much in boosting my science self-esteem, either. With any luck, this year will be different, as long as I don't blow anything up. *cross my fingers*Last but not least, gym. Unfortunately, I still haven't met my teacher yet. However, I've heard plenty of nice things about her, and I'm pretty confident in my athletic abilities (other than badminton... D;), so I'm not very worried. I'll update when I finally meet her on Monday.
4/4. Perfect, right? :D I've talked enough about school for now. How are everybody else's classes going? Anyone switching teachers?

Who reads fine print? Apparently nobody. Truthfully, no matter how optimistic I try to be, I really miss semester one.

Hmm... fineprint. I had to zoom in 32x before it was readable...

For your information, I read fineprint.
Anyways, good luck in your subjects. I have science, gym, geography, and english. Not a bad combination. I'd be happy to help if you are having trouble in math.

P.S. My eye hurts trying to read that fineprint...
Hmm... I just noticed that your title message changed from "The daily ramblings of an IB student with way too much time on her hands.

A fine print reader! *gasp* :D
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'll be sure to ask. And who do you have for geography?
Yes, yes it did. >:)
Btw, you could have just copy pasted the fine print to the address bar.
