These two days have been interesting. Very interesting. Too interesting for their own good. D;
The first part: CS
Yesterday, we encountered a problem, which took a while to solve. We had thought that we had finally found a solution by declaring procedures, then calling them to action inside a procedure.
We needed to do this, because in order to create a button, you need to give a procedure to be performed once the button is pushed. We wanted to create back and return to main menu buttons. Since you can't link pages like websites, we figured we'd clear the screen, redraw the screen, and use accumulators to store information.
Unfortunately, we found out today that our idea wouldn't work, as the order of procedures would mean that there would always be variables that weren't declared. In order to counter this problem, I spent around two hours as soon as I got home today trying different solutions.
I think I've finally caught on to something--we can use the procedure GUI.Quit in order to have each procedure quit its loop once the appropriate button is pressed. I'll be further discussing this with my group members. I really hope it works.
The second part: The Return of Terrible Tuesdays
It has happened--the inevitable. First marked by odd events disguised as coincidences early yesterday morning, the horrible curse has seemingly crawled back! How was I so sure of this horrid truth? At around 6 pm last night, I began feeling uneasy. I didn't know why, but I felt like I had best stay home.
The feeling worsened, until 6:30, when it was time to leave for Scouts. I tried arguing with my mother, but she still dragged me to the meeting. Within the first 10 minutes upon arrival, nothing happened, and I was relieved. Then, just when everything seemed normal, The Event happened. We were playing basketball, and I had walked close to the net to retrieve my ball. I suddenly heard a whooshing sound, so I looked up, and was immediately hit in the face with a basketball.
I'm not being ridiculous. It hurt! My nose now has an oddly shaped reddish welt/bruise that still stings. See, the curse is back, I tell you!

Sigh. I hope the next two days will go more smoothly than these two have.

P.S. I'm reading The Clockwork Angel (scroll down). Finally, after waiting about a year to get it from the library.
