The Culminating Procedure

Ughh. Lately, it seems like I've been performing the same procedure over and over again. Our program is progressing at a good rate, but I feel like it's all I'm doing. My other three subjects have kind of sat in the corner, being neglected.

I'll elaborate after I tell you what I did today. No cheating by scrolling to the bottom of the page. The "this is how my day went" part of my posts are important, too. If you don't read them, they'll feel unimportant. You don't want to hurt the feelings of virtual text, do you? :(

Haha. Nonetheless, I'll have to type it up sooner or later. I spent the majority of today's class working on the CMS bibliography algorithm. I'll finish that later on, and also spend some time cleaning up my group's wiki. Yep, we created our very own wiki just for the culminating project! Yay! :)

Unfortunately, Mr. Arkin wasn't feeling well, and told us that he wouldn't be here tomorrow. Don't worry! We won't set anything on fire when he's away. We'll all work on our culminating projects, and be good little boys and girls for the supply teacher.  Cue evil grin... just kidding. :)

Well, that's that.

Okay, so other than French class, where we continued working on our culminating (teehee, not telling you), I spent my two other classes watching wonderful movies. However, they were very different. We're watching Fiddler on the Roof in music, which is just splendid. It is very amusing, and the music is exquisite.

In geography, we began watching Human Footprint  (I LOVE The National Geography channel). It was very shocking for most of us, to see all the products we will consume throughout laid out in front of us. Most of us don't think twice about the food we eat, the water we use, or the clothes on our backs. However, we just keep consuming, and everything keeps building up. It sent a very strong message: if we don't' do anything soon, bad things will happen. Heck, bad things have already started happening!

Okay, it wasn't exactly put like that, but you get my point. On a completely different note, I've progressed to almost halfway through Clockwork Angel. Surprisingly, I think I may like it more than Cassandra Clare's other series, The Mortal Instruments. There may be just a bit of bias, because I really like steam-punk. This series has a lot more to do with steam-punk , but still has plenty of magic. Plus, I think there's more of a storyline, so I'll continue to read. I hope it doesn't disappoint!

Before I leave, I'd like to give a recommendation to those who want to try reading some steam-punk. The Leviathan series is by the amazing Scott Westerfeld (who wrote The Uglies series, quite well known). For all you history and WWI nuts out there, this is perfect for you. It combines the world of automation with espionage and mystery, creating a perfect fantasy world which could well parallel our history.

Hope you get the chance to check it out and enjoy! Feel free to tell me what you think of the book if you read it.
