play ("2g2g2e2a1g1e")

Greetings. I come in peace. No really. I do.

Today's CS class is a free period to continue  working on our repetition assignments, and homework. Or else you wouldn't catch me dead on here, posting my time away. No siree, I'd be busy frantically taking down notes in class, and listening carefully to everything that Mr. Arkin says. Of course I would be. :)
-----
I was just gone for a quick second there, because Mr. Arkin had a quick lesson to teach, and so I took a quick note. It was about 2 functions; whatrow and whatcol. They display a single value, more specifically the location (row or column) of the cursor. Mr. Arkin also mentioned a procedure called setscreen. I read about it a bit more in the Turing Documentation menu, and it seems pretty useful. I mean, imagine resizing your backpack depending on the amount of homework you have at will! It does that for the size of the window, and also lets the programmer control a lot more!

Heh. Anyways. I got my CS mark, which was actually higher then I expected, but a little disappointing nonetheless, considering my standards are (as a friend put it) insanely high. If you're wondering, then too bad, because I'm not telling you. Ohohohoho.

However...I will say that I was pretty pleased with my geo average...94%. I'm even more pleased with my French average though...96%! I must remember not to get too pleased, as there's plenty room to improve for next term. Also, I've delayed mentioning it until now, but guess what? (WHAT?) I made the LMT team! (Good for you? What the heck is the LMT?) If you'd just let me talk, I would answer you! It's the almighty Lab Management team!

It might sound like a nerdy club full of computer geeks to you, but I'm very proud to have made it through the interviews, because we were a handpicked bunch of students recommended by Mr. Arkin! And we get to boss you around if you visit Lab 235 during lunch. Congrats to all my fellow grade 9ers who also made the LMT!

Well, Mr. Arkin gave us a very subtle hint that it is time to pack up. He asked us, "What are those bunch of curious symbols on the bottom most right hand corner of your screens?" I was halfway through a long and very accurate description of the meaning of the bottom screen of Turing, before I realized he was referring to the time.

Well, I'll be back later...

  1. Hmm... The famous double-post.
LMT told me I was in last Tuesday.
Apart from that, if you posted your other marks, why not CS, it can't be that bad. You were a gifted student. What's your other subject other than CS, French, and Geo?
Did you read and try my sample code under the comments on your Friday entry?
