“The most terrible poverty is loneliness, and the feeling of being unloved.”-Mother Teresa.
Did you get that? I'm LONELY here! I know people are reading this, so comment! Be interactive, don't leave me feeling unloved. :(
Okay, that that we've gotten that over with, time for a recap of today's lesson! We managed to finally finish the definitions for all the terms (except for a few Mr. Arkin left for the programming unit) of our Basic Computer glossary. We learned about the "booting paradox", and also learned to count!
If you're thinking in your head, "Did I read correctly? Did she just say she learned how to count today?" Well, you didn't hear wrong. And I'm not dumb, either. We didn't just learn how to count (normally in base 10), we learned to count in base 2, which is the system used for encoding characters into 7-bit codes. Do some research on that if you have time, as it is quite interesting.
On another topic, did you that this year is our school's 50th anniversary? Therefore, our newspaper is publishing a special commemorative edition for this month. As I am part of the spotlight (interview) section, I have the opportunity to interview one of our former alumni, Margaret Wente, who is a columnist herself for the Globe and Mail. Her articles are funny (many times in sarcastic manner) and thought-provoking, and I recommend checking them out.
So now I have an excuse to end this post (I have to go work on the interview questions!), so CIAO!
