Being sick SUCKS. |
Well. It was a Monday today, and so I had yet ANOTHER appointment to get rid of my foot infection. And guess what? Something interesting happened today—he actually showed signs of being human! For once, the man who seemingly is unable to show empathy actually had a reaction to my cries of pain during the treatment. And asked if I was okay. How curious.
Hm. First and foremost, I'd like to mention that Mr. Arkin hasn't been feeling well, and thus wasn't here today, and won't be here tomorrow. I hate being sick, and I hope he gets well soon! In the meantime, I'll try to be a good student host and help out the supply teacher. Our class was pretty on task today, working through some Substring assignments, which we will continue tomorrow. The test is coming up, so I'll also have to study, of course.

On another note, I've actually completed my first Dramione ever! If you have no idea what I'm talking about, check out my glossary page. If you are aware of what it is, and want to read my finished fic, here you go! Keep in mind, it's not that great, and it is a bit angsty. That may be the result of me reading a couple of Jodi Picoult books recently. Sound familiar? She's the one who wrote the book My Sister's Keeper, which got turned into a movie.
I've put her into a category with Nicholas Sparks, as one of those authors whose books you just have to read. She's really excellent, and her tales are very sobering and thought-provoking. I finished Salem Falls over the weekend, and I'd definitely recommend it. I'm in the process of reading Nineteen Minutes (recommended and borrowed from my friend Hannah). I'll let you know if it's any good, but so far, I just can't put it down!
Okay, last random switch of topic in this post. Do any of you know about the Hallmark Hall of Fame movies? It's a tradition in my family to watch them. They are inspirational movies that air usually twice to three times a year. Amongst today's numerous action flicks, low-budget comedies, and ever-growing number of chick flicks, it's really rare to find those gems of movies. The ones that make you laugh, cry, and think.
The Hallmark movies do exactly that. They've been broadcast since 1951, and there's probably a very good reason why they have been able to go on for so long. Before I start gushing about the 'sentimental treasures' these movies are, I'll detour back to the point.
This month's feature was November Christmas, telling the touching story of how a small town came together to bring happiness to a girl who was undergoing treatment for cancer. I won't tell you too much, in case you want to go buy the movie from a Hallmark store. Speaking of which, I forgot to mention that these movies only air once, and then you will have to buy them in order to see them.
You probably didn't know that many of your favourite movies, or even just movies you have heard of were Hallmark Hall of Fame movies. For example, Sarah, Plain and Tall, and The Secret Garden.
I hope you check them out, they really are just wonderful. The next movie is on January 30th at 9/8 central on CBS (channel 16 for most).
!Grace! :)
