DJ Grace is IN DA HOUSE!

Hey,hey, hey, guess who's back from camp!

Sorry I wasn't able to post on Friday, because I had to go to a very special event that I will tell you about right after I cover what happened in computer studies on Friday.

First off, we learned about a very cool tradition-every Friday, a student each CS class gets to choose the music that plays during that period. Therefore, the student becomes the DJ for the class, and hence the room becomes Studio 218 (the room is 218). I thought this was a pretty awesome idea, and so did the class. I'll be checking later on wiki spaces to see if our class has begun arranging which students brings the music on which day.

Also, we covered how to properly get the special characters we want while typing through character entities. This would cover symbols like quotation marks, trademark signs, card suits, ampersands, and more. We were also shown a very handy directory to access the character entities which can be found here.

Friday's class was a pretty productive one, and I'm pleased to announce that after some final tweaking later today, I should be finished.

Now, for the interesting part: the Fort George camp I went on this weekend! If you've been able to get through grade 7 history class without falling asleep, you'd know about the war of 1812, between the British and the Americans. Every year at Fort George (Niagara-on-the-lake), thousands of Canadian and American scouts get together for a weekend to reenact the war. Since I am a scout (and my mom is a scouter-don't ask), I love firing cap guns (muskets were used during the battle!), I was only too happy to join in the fun.

This blog is mainly for topics relating to my computer studies class, so I'll stop here. But if you want to hear more about my weekend, I'll be adding a post completely focused on that in the other blog I am part of, "Giftees United." I hope you'll find some time to go check it out!

A very tired Grace who still has to practice for the music test, work on CS homework, and do oh-so-much-more. *yawn*
